This was the first book by Murakami I read. I love the way he writes and I would like to read the original some time. It's an interesting story about a young boy leaving his home.

'k Heb het wel in het Nederlands gelezen: zeker aan te raden. Lang geleden dat ik nog zo'n brok literatuur met zoveel wauw-elementen in handen heb gehad. Er zit zoveel in dat het niet te vatten is in enkele lijntjes, maar ik vond het een fantastisch boek in alle betekenissen van het woord.

Fun read, Murakami doing what he does best - some intertwined storylines, forbidden love, and coming of age, all checking in at just over 400 pages.  There's not a lot not to like here.

This book was an interesting read. It's the first I book by this author that I have ever read. I love how the author weaves characters and their situations into one huge web that entangles the reader with each page turn. This book was so very different from the books I usual read. When I get the chance I plan on reading another book by this author.
