Terrific oral history. He grew up with Kennedy's, Gore Vidal, co-founder of Paris Review, Paris in the 50's, New York in 60's literature world - lots of pictures. Harrowing comments about being in the kitchen when RFK was shot. Plimpton was one of the people who wrestled the gun away from Sirhan Sirhan. (I never knew this). There is a picture from Los Angeles...more

He seemed both as interesting as I always heard he was - and a bit of a bastard, sometimes for the same reasons. Interesting format, and quite a gathering of the famous for their segmented commentary.
