I liked the first part a whole lot; I was totally into the author's fantasy of falling in love with George Bush.  By the last quarter I was skimming though.  It just feels kind of undone at the end,undisciplined, like a deadline got the better of Ms. Sittenfeld.  Definitely worth reading.

Although I very much enjoyed both the first and the final parts of the book, it slowed down for me a bit during the courtship and early marriage. I would have enjoyed the middle of the book more if it were entirely fictional, but probably enjoyed the ending more because it wasn't.

This was an easy summer read.  Based loosly on Laura Bush, it really makes you think about what it must be like to be a public figure.  I did like the way the author developed the main character from young girl through adulthood and on to First Lady.  The book absolutely made me interested in Laura Bush and I might just read her biography.  I have to say that it makes you wonder how a woman so...more

I really enjoyed this book. It makes you think twice about automatically condemning a public figure since you don't know their history and it's implications.
