more The latest book from the 'no nonsense' host of Hardball is an energizing account of Matthews' observations of America's famous politicians, and a self-help book in disguise. He is fascinated with their methodologies of success, which are often ulteriorly-motivated and calculating, but as he frames it, never underhanded or dirty. Recounting infamous as well as personal interactions with the likes of Bill Clinton, Tip O'Neill, JFK, Nancy Pelosi, and his former bosses on the Hill, Matthews pulls out the inspiring essence of what drove these drivers to make themselves. His admiration for their gusto is transferred to the reader through colloquial language and vignettes are crafted to highlight what he values the pol to represent, no matter how idealistic the impression, as with JFK. He prescribes to recognize the simplicity of congruently and seamlessly translating our intentions into actions. Our own campaigns for success can then focus on embracing our competition with a grin.
