The narrative about the writing of the U.S. Constitution is fascinating. This book offers a great historical perspective in which the author does not hesitate in discussing topics like slavery and the views the writers of the constitution had in those topics. A fantastic look inside the proceedings in Philadelphia.  Beeman brings the debates to life; well written and exhaustively researched.
