Dr Angelou offers valuable insight for younger women based on her own life experiences. Readers would be amazed, amused and awed at some of the disclosures. It is a blessing to have read this book and makes a great gift.

Mayo Angelou is one of those people that I would love to meet,what words of wisdom she shares in this new book.

Starts off very slowly...takes a bit of getting into. I only started enjoying her subtle writing style about half way through the book. She shares some of her special moments in life in a simple soft manner. Everything in the book is *soft* for lack of a better word. Favourite quote: "I beleive that every citizen wants to stand on the world stage and represent a noble country where the mighty do no always crush the weak and the dream of a democracy is not the sole possession of the strong" Having said that, after reading the book I felt warm and fuzzy from all the softness. You can never do wrong by reading a Maya Angelou book

I am a 25 year dedicated reader of this writer. While I found the book an easy read and deep in moments I felt I expected more. Lovely, short read. Touching, inspiring, motivating just as my poet momma has always been! Good short read. Some lovely "letters" short stories. As a long time more than 25 years of love for this author I might have expected much more.
