I thought the novel was building to a climax but was disappointed as it just...fell on its face. Just like that, the end. Interesting characters, but that's about the only good thing I have to say about it.

A trip. Sometimes I could not put this town, sometimes I had to. Interesting themes, but not always well developed--more potential than actual.

It was confusing at first, sort of hard to get into, but at the end everything fell wonderfully into place. Was incredibly weird, but it all came together beautifully at the end.

This is a great book. As seems to be trendy, it is from multiple characters points of view. It all takes place in Vegas and Bock's writing is an incredibly vivid. I imagine this is being made into a film. It would make a great one!

A little difficult to grasp all the different characters at first, but worth the effort as their lives tie into each other. Difficult subject matter that makes you re-examine your own beliefs, security, and life.

Hey - pay attention to your kids so they don't turn out like the not-so-beautiful children in this novel. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Gave up half way through which I rarely do. Don't like the writing style. VERY hard to get into. Maybe another time, but right now too much good stuff to read to waste anymore time on this, still reading, struggling to get into it.

As I got into it I marveled at the way the novel was constructed, with time turned inside-out, scrambled and reordered, knowing that it was moving towards a fascinating climax that would make sense of it all and bring all the threads together. Unfortunately, the climax was a dud, the threads are still all over the place, and I have to rate this work as a disappointment. If the purpose was to...more
