It's simple, to say the least, but gives you an idea of the struggles that a career minor leaguer could have without overloading on baseball cliches. In all, it's a surprisingly touching book that has a sense of humor and a sense of triumph that's pretty unmatched.If I hadn't started reading it at 11 at night, I'd have finished it without having shut the book, but instead it took about 8 hours, having slept in the middle.
