This is a very good and eye-opening book. It is about an American couple's struggle to adopt a girl from Zimbabwe. It is a heart felt book. This book also show a part of history in the Zimbabwean society. I recommend that everyone reads this book.

What an amazing book! This true tale tells of an American mixed-race couple who attempt to adopt a baby girl in southern Africa. Tucker uses plain and simple language to describe the frustrations and roadblocks the couple faces. Living in Africa myself, I can identify with the story. It is touching and very well written.

My wife and I are in a similar situation, living in Africa and trying to adopt a child we’ve had for years, and the book seems pretty realistic to us. Of note, the author is neither cynical nor romantic about his family’s...more

Hearbreaking how many orphaned babies there are in Zimbabwe. And how hard it is for them to be adopted.
