more This is definitely worth reading, even if you just flip through a few pages at night before falling asleep. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because the writing was so eloquent, but once I got into the groove it was quite interesting. A great look into Obama's childhood and life until his 30's. He begins with his schooling and upbringing as a child (mainly in Indonesia and Hawaii) then discusses his interest in becoming a community organizer (mostly for the neglected black population in the Chicago area). He takes a trip to Africa to try and make a connection to his family on his father's side, who is truly African, and seems to come back feeling more confused than when he arrived. This is a very touching and eye opening novel, especially to someone not familiar with Indonesian or African culture.
