A fantastic tale about a Geisha living before and during the time of the war in Japan. It is a moving tale of life and love in a trying time in part of a often misunderstood and dying livelihood. I would recommend to anyone who likes stories based on real circumstances.

This book is hypnotic. From the very first word, its impossible to put down. Aurthur Golden's writing is so exquisite, when I remember this book I can actually see & feel every place, I was so involved with the story its as if I was really there. Highly reccommended. I might have to read it again!
