Can't praise this book enough. Read it, read it, read it. Certain phrases keep haunting me and the prose is the best of any contemporary author I've read, hands down.
I'm not usually a Banville fan, but this was enjoyable. It is the story of a widower who returns to a childhood seaside resort, full of memories at every turn. Nice twist at the end.
