The movie scared the crap out of me as a kid and I was hoping the book would do the same thing. It started off great because I knew what would eventually come, but I couldn't help but wonder, with it taking so many pages (well over 100) for him to set up the scene, would I still even be giving this book a chance had I not seen the movie? Probably not. There was too much detail in the small stuff for my taste and when it did pick up, the book was over.   hide

It kept me awake for long hours. Could not leave it.

I enjoyed reading this when I was a teenager but I don't think I'd like it now.

This book scared me so much that I never have read a Stephen King book since.
