Unlike a large number of people who've been introduced to Dan brown through his remarkable book the Da Vinci Code, my first Dan Brown book was Angels & Demons. Dan Brown has proven to be one of the best writers in the suspense & theological thriller genre.  Unlike a large number of people who've been introduced to Dan brown through his remarkable book the Da Vinci Code, my first Dan Brown book was Angels & Demons. Dan Brown has proven to be one of the best writers in the suspense & theological thriller genre. The novelty of his plots, his amazingly precise research, and his capacity to catch the reader's interest from the get-go and hold it until the last word in the last sentence of the last page, make him an exceptional author. Moreover, after completing each of Dan Brown's books, the reader usually comes away from the experience having learned much more than a storyline. I loved "Deception Point" - couldn't put it down. I also highly recommend "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons."   hide

Possibly better than the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons.  This is a page turner, if ever there was one.  Get past the intro and the setting of some background info and then hang onto your book marker.  This goes fast, and you better hone up on your life sciences first.

"Deception Point" is a 2001 techno-thriller novel by Dan Brown. The plot concerns a meteorite found within the Arctic Circle that may provide proof of extraterrestrial life, and attempts by dark forces to prevent this finding from becoming public. If you enjoy stories about conspiracies that are as big as they come, this story is definitely for you.

Other books have been better

in the same manner that someone would make a Hollywood action film. Lots of spills and thrills, highly entertaining but in the end quite droll and unsatisfying.

Action packed n fast paced... great plot... kept me guessing till the very end... thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanx to Misho for sending me the .pdf copy... was skeptical about reading 500+ pages on iPad... but it was in many ways better than reading a paperback :-)

When I first purchased this book, I knew it would be very interesting story according to the brief summary it had. So I save it for when I have the time to read it. Then few weeks later, I finally had the chance to sit down and read. 

Man, it was a real pager turner and I was unable to put it down because I wanted to know what is going to happen next. I was like thinking this was this...more
 When I first purchased this book, I knew it would be very interesting story according to the brief summary it had. So I save it for when I have the time to read it. Then few weeks later, I finally had the chance to sit down and read. 

Man, it was a real pager turner and I was unable to put it down because I wanted to know what is going to happen next. I was like thinking this was this character, then wham! The twist threw me for a loop. Not what I was expecting. 

That's when I knew I was hooked, and lost one night of sleep over this book. It was well worth every penny for this book. There should be a warning label on this book , "Beware, you may lose sleep over this book". 

That's how darn good this book was. Dan Brown should have this be made into a movie. I hope so!!   hide

In my opinion not the best story he has told - but then I'm partial to "The Da Vinci Code"!  I found it a a bit heavy in parts - and slightly long winded - technically.  But then,my attention is better held by historically and romantically linked tales.  A good read nontheless.  There is no denying DAn Brown is an exceptional author.

Taken in isolation - entertaining.  However, reading it after "DaVinci Code" & "Angels & Demons" reveals Mr/ Brown to have a limited capacity to generate novel plots.  This book simply follow the exact plot of the other two - an inept, bumbling male "hero" who is supremely intellectual and an utter failure with women linking up with a savvy, dynamic, genius & beautiful female who invests all of...more
