This book is very clever, written from a dog (Chet's) point of view. I don't know if you would like this if you didn't have some experience with dogs (like you, Benjamin), but I loved it. I loved it when Chet would be going on about the story line, then immediately be distracted by some dog thing, like a new smell or a bark in the distance, and completely forget about anything else. And Chet was always positive and hopeful. I am not sure that dog's have bad moods. I started reading this as an audio book and just couldn't buy it--the dog's "voice" just didn't seem right. Then I read it the traditional way and it was wonderful. Light and entertaining and funny. I recommend this book too!   hide

light mystery - fun read, all from the dog (Chet)'s point of view (as sidekick/partner to Bernie, the PI. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

This was very entertaining - a nice, light mystery, and the fact that it was told from the perspective of Chet the dog was interesting. If you have ever owned a dog, you will probably agree that Quinn hit that nail on the head!

One of the funniest books I read last summer; very light, very easy to read. Would recommend it for light summer reading. Entirely believable if you're a dog person. Cat person? Don't even think about it!!

Very Fun! A dog lover's book since the entire story is told through the dog's point of view. Chet, the dog, is very funny. The detective story was solveable long before the end of the book, but it was such light hearted fun, that I can't wait to read another.
