I picked this book up at random at Kramer Books and Afterwords at Dupont Circle (DC), and couldn't put it down. Packer's diction is amazing. She has the ability to weave a compelling story that keeps you wanting more.

Packer is a brilliant writer -- the kind that makes me intensely jealous of her talent. She's similar to Zadie Smith but packs all that life into a single short story.

Charming short stories about African American Youth.  Most of these stories leave the reader searching for a deeper meaning.  I took away from this book a particular new look at the city of Baltimore.
