The beginning with just him on a mountain is incredible... when he returns to civilization again it's classic (but pretty conventional) Kerouac.

Easily on of the best books ever. I love the split between his time on the mountain alone and his wild ride through the city.

I've only read parts of this, well more like 1/2 of it and i think its Kerouac. You either get him or you dont. I happen to like him, but im still not a Kerouac junkie.
