Ethics for the New Millennium

It is insightful and beautiful, but at some points its muddled and confusing. I feel a bit like a jerk for criticizing the Dalai Lama's book.

A real truthful insight to living a life of compassion... A book I would go back to again.

The Dalai Lama calls for a spiritual revolution that is not religious based, but in stead based on the premise that all human beings want to be loved.

At this point in His Holiness' writing life he is so clear and simple and it could not be better told. He is a master of breaking down a highly complex religion into it's essential message of ethical living and compassion. I'd say his last 10 or so books are all perfect and so just read whatever is most relevant to you at this time.

The Dalai Lama is a beautiful, caring, warm soul, one who we can all learn a great deal from. This book is simply his thoughts on what we as individuals can do to make the world a better place, just as the title suggests, in an ever changing world heading into a new Millennium. The Dalai Lama is a beautiful, caring, warm soul, one who we can all learn a great deal from. This book is simply his thoughts on what we as individuals can do to make the world a better place, just as the title suggests, in an ever changing world heading into a new Millennium. There are many great guidelines on these pages, many that our political and social leaders should really take a look at. There isn't really anything mind blowing or revolutionary, the ideas are rather basic, but he portrays them in such a way as to understand they would be hard to introduce and institute into society, but in the long run they would be worth it. What I liked the best about this book is that it is NOT a religious doctrine. It approaches it's subject in a very Humanist way, accessible and understandable to all people, regardless of religious affiliation.   hide
