Mother in law gave it to me when we moved to BC. Excellent way to start my understanding of this beautiful part of the planet!

True story of a British Columbian woman whose husband's boat came back empty a day after he'd gone sailing. She faced his disappearance and possible death by taking their children out in the same boat and crusing the coastline for weeks every summer. Beautiful account that cries for cinematic treatment.

I want to be like Blanchet an explorer and a mother a true inspiration for all women. She is very poetic, descriptive, adventurous and funny. I still want to make this trip to the north Pacific again. Simply beautiful

An inspiration to live simply. Also a chronicle of the way things used to be along the coast. Makes me wish i knew how to sail...
