Easy read and a pretty good story.  Only criticism is that he just randomly throws in strangely too much kitchen detail (instructions on how to make a veloute when describing what the main character is doing at work one moment).

Bourdain's first novel that is ripe with his dry sense of humor. His writing style mirrors his keen wit as the narrator of No Reservations.

Sort of a pre-Sopranos "hit" on mobsters v. the culinary world.  Fun to read in the sun. But not much meat to cut into.

Bought it for $1 and it was worth the full price. A great murder mystery and I highly recommend it! (I suspect that the Chef has "nasty bits" of Tony in him!)

Is there anybody cooler than Anthony Bourdain?  Seriously?  Although this has some of the most violent scenes I've read in fiction, it was just the sort of slick, wise-ass, irreverent read I needed.  A great mob story written by America's most bad ass chef!
