This book was given to me by a male friend who is brilliant, but I wasn't convinced I would like it as much as he thought I would...I absolutely loved it...Clarke's writing made me laugh out loud even in public...I enjoyed reading about his perspectives of French culture, and how he pokes fun at the English as well...A nice, light read but very very entertaining.

I re-read this book recently and loved it all over again. I first picked it up at FNAC in Paris and howled with laughter on the metro. His writing about France is so entertaining.

This is just hilarious.. Reminding me of my last visit to France. And I thought these things seem weird just to me, because I am Czech:)

This book has been passed around between about half of our staff at the shop. We have all loved it. It reads like a novel but is based on the true experiences of a Brit who moves to France to live and work. His struggle with the culture of the French is highly entertaining. There is nothin' like laughing at someone else's misfortune.
