An extension of my earlier statement. THIS WORLD IS FUCKED. And if we all just stay asleep, our children will reap the benefits of  posioned planet. Derrick is much more succienct than I am. Read it and WAKE UP!!!

Awesome book! If you can take it.  The Biosphere, the totality of all life on Earth, is what we're messing with.  This book is about how what we call 'civilization' has been destroying all life in its path since its inception, about 6,000 years ago.  Civilization invariably cuts down forests, over the long term this creates desert: the Middle East, and North Africa for example.  The ice caps are...more
 Awesome book! If you can take it.  The Biosphere, the totality of all life on Earth, is what we're messing with.  This book is about how what we call 'civilization' has been destroying all life in its path since its inception, about 6,000 years ago.  Civilization invariably cuts down forests, over the long term this creates desert: the Middle East, and North Africa for example.  The ice caps are melting.  Hurricane Katrina knocked out New Orleans.  And the fundamental reason for all this, boils down to a 'civilization' that values money over life.

I don't think I will finish this one. This was one of the last books I read while I was in the non-fiction, memoirs, political mode of book reading.

I wasn't quite right in the head for a long time after I finished reading Endgame.  After certain sections, I became more of a wild creature, uncomprehendingly locked in my square room, not able to attach any sort of meaning to any of the objects within it.  I highly recommend the experience.
