Brilliant discussion of hunger in America and how it still remains a bizarre conflict between pity and shame, anger and resignation. As someone who once (tried to) apply for food stamps, I have a bare inkling of what it must be like for the millions -- yes millions -- of Americans who have to wade through mountains of red tape just to put a meal, any meal, on the table.
