Ought to be read over and over again.  Extraordinary restatement of the beliefs central to Christianity, as well as an excellent reminder that the secular order has its own proper place.  This encyclical is wonderfully complemented by Benedict's Regensburg Lecture, which could have been subtitled Deus Logos Est.

A gem of wisdom. Especially good illumination of the relationship between charity and justice. In my opinion, a very beautiful guide to discovering more deeply the richness of the Creator's love and the integral, exciting role we are called to play as receivers and bearers of that love! A must read.
