some of the tings written can be found in the wisdom of solomon, but it is heavilly influenced by attainment of nirvana, and some things just are wrong thinking. ugh.

Many people comparing Cungfu Tzu and Lao Tzu.. It's nonsense for me. Lao Tzu is about way of being, I mean being of the universe, nature not society rules like Cungfu Tsu.

I have read this work in a couple different forms, and its ideas form most of my philosophy. To sum up this philosophy as succinctly as possible, the Tao follows nature and so do I, as much as possible. :)

This translation of the Tao Te Ching preserves all the beautiful ambiguity and spartan quality of the original. Less interpretive than other translations and more poetic... the first line readsd "Tao called Tao is not Tao," leaving it up to the reader to determine what "Tao" is.

Some interesting ideas. It was useful to contrast it with Confucius' Analects, which I was reading at the time. My copy of Tao Te Ching did not have any notes, which I feel would have fleshed out some of the ideas. I should go back and read the Tao of Pooh, now that I've read the original.

Not what I thought it would be. There's a lot of misinterpretation. People like to view it as a way to live your life: modest and humble. But some of it is really about how a ruler should control his people: keep them ignorant so they can't revolt, don't show off so they won't be jealous. But still, a book is what you get out of it. If it make syou a better person, by all means.
