Simple, short but such a powerful message. It took me very little time to finish this but a long time to recover from the sadness that struck me from the ending of the story.

Beautiful poetic novel, strong and gripping. No wasted words, it is easy to read, but surely hard to forget; allegory of freedom ("Somewhere in Afghanistan or elsewhere"), intimate confession and internal moral debate, all in one.

For an Arab woman, she sure does swear a lot. Or is that because the author left his home land to live in France and swear like a Frenchman? I'm leaning towards the latter.
