Mansfield Park (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)

If you haven't read the book beware that the two lead characters are cousins. Other than that, I felt that the book was a great read.

I have to say that this is not a favorite of mine. I didn't find any of the characters people I wanted to spend time with, which is unusual with Austen's writing. I just didn't care what happened to any of them and I don't like stories like that, you want to care some about the people you spending time with in a book. To me, Fanny Price is a simpering child, who does have powerful observational skills for those around her, but is such a spineless little girl (even though she is grown) you quickly grow annoyed with her.   hide

nice story. typically jane austen to talk about domestic felicity

The first half of this book is always a struggle, but Fanny really becomes an amazing character about half way through. It's wonderful how subtle Jane Austen can be, and it works very well for this book.
