Trendspotting and fashion history mixed with a riveting mystery. Fast paced and fun.

i loved this book! the characters are so likeable and fun to get to know! i really liked seeing the fashion industry from another point of view! an overall great read.

westerfeld is becoming one of my favorite authors. this book details the problems and pluses of media saturation and the idea that cool is hunted very well. the teenagers are realistic, the detective story is well paced, and  i like all the trivia. it's supposed to be a book with a specific message, but at the same time they leave it pretty open ended. also, i like the idea of ads for fake...more
 westerfeld is becoming one of my favorite authors. this book details the problems and pluses of media saturation and the idea that cool is hunted very well. the teenagers are realistic, the detective story is well paced, and  i like all the trivia. it's supposed to be a book with a specific message, but at the same time they leave it pretty open ended. also, i like the idea of ads for fake products. i actually thought for a really long time that "head on" must be a joke because the commercials were so bizarre.   hide
