Thanks to The Podge Cast for posting this book on their website.  Ferdinand looks a lot like Dr. Katz of the animated series Dr. Katz.  I love the bizarre characters in this book & will have to search out more by Mr. Sfar.

Not only one of France's best writers and artists, but a treasure of the global comic community.  This book follows an all too human vampire's love life and the drama that even mythological beings experience.  
The book is told with such tenderness and sympathy for its characters.  It's also flat our hilarious and crazy at times.  Oh yeah, and did I mention Sfar's sketchy masterpieces changed my...more

"Love isn't any easier when you're dead." That tagline sums this book up rather well. In fact, for Ferdinand the vampire, the afterlife consists of little more than feeding his cat, drinking someone's blood (just a little bit, so they'll think it's a mosquito bite), and running into all sorts of women, both alive and dead, who cause him no end of misery. Sfar enjoys drawing grotesque...more
 "Love isn't any easier when you're dead." That tagline sums this book up rather well. In fact, for Ferdinand the vampire, the afterlife consists of little more than feeding his cat, drinking someone's blood (just a little bit, so they'll think it's a mosquito bite), and running into all sorts of women, both alive and dead, who cause him no end of misery. Sfar enjoys drawing grotesque monsters, but their dialogue is so sincere, it plays out much like real life. For anyone who's ever experienced the joys and the dreariness of being in a relationship, Ferdinand understands. Love sucks.   hide
