more This book did not meet my expectations. It wasn't really 'about' anything. The main character was a woman on her deathbed flashing back to moments in her life amongst her best friends. It broached many issues that hit a nerve for me:the scourge of breast cancer, the frailty of friendships, a mother in a coma. Personally, I didn't want to go there but I struggled through the book waiting for the big reveal, the aha moment. It was not to be found. There were a few insightful moments but not worth the trouble. I guess the point of the novel is that what once seemed so important can end so suddenly - life, a marriage, friendships.
