Great book, well 3 great books actually. It took me a while to read because I'd set it aside to read other books, but I finally finished it tonight. The ending felt totally rushed and left me wanting. However, Dan Abnett did an excellent job weaving a tale about duty, honor, sacrifice, temptation, and near-damnation. Easily one of the greatest Warhammer series ever written, and up there for great scifi books in general. Eisenhorn combines mystery, action, politics, and ethics into one great thought provoking look into the Inquisition and what it means to be good or evil.

The first-person perspective takes some getting used to, but the action starts with the first paragraph and never lets up. It's a hard-boiled detective drama in the most hard-boiled of settings.
