The Host

The plot idea for this book was amazing, but I found it so incredibly boring, I couldn't finish it.

I am considering being truthful by saying I prefer this one to the Twilight series... I truly am... I have been having Host-related dreams (aliens, running away, etc.) since I have read it, so it has made an impression! If you are familiar with the Twilight series, you will fall prey to the charms of this one as well. This is a story about survival and embracing difference, with a strong mythology that will draw you in as strongly as Twilight did.   hide

Den står veldig stødig som en roman, og selvom mange ønsker en oppfølger - så syntes jeg hun kan la den få stå i fred. Jeg syntes dette var en knallbok. Bedre skrevet enn Twilight-bøkene. Jeg likte veldig godt tanken bak boken, og det at hun klarer å holde seg til å skrive bøker som er lettlest er ikke til å kjimse av.

Can see this book turning into a movie like all her other books... interesting take on how humans could be taken over by an alien species! My only dislike was that it moved a little slow and the scenery never really changed much.... caves and desert were practically it for the descriptions other than the people... I realize that the relationships between Melanie and Wanderer were the core plot...more

I realize that the relationships between Melanie and Wanderer were the core plot and that the characters were mainly secluded within these two simple confines of scenery adjectives but it was a little "dry" for my taste (pardon the pun). Other than that, the book is a must-read for those who love Stephenie!   hide
