Gospel According to Jesus Christ

An interesting take on the life of Jesus Christ, but it was not my favorite Saramago (i.e., The Stone Raft).

Another work of historical fiction, gritty realism, irony, reflection and questioning. Saramago is not afraid to question, and neither should we be as well. The Inquisition woulda had a blast with this one.

Gave up on it!

Really makes sense of why the god of the Old Testament and the one in the New Testament seem so different.From a purely entertainment point of view, it took a long time to get interesting (1/2 way through). Also, having no paragraph breaks or quotation marks for speech, while interesting, pushes the reader out of the text.
