Simply mind opening.

I was surprised how things that seem complex can be explained easily. And it can be certanly read as horror. I still keep asking myself how that could be possible. And I wonder what would be Chomsky's comments on the same issues today.

Great book. Easy read at about 150 pages and a good intro to Chomsky's thought. Once again he elucidates the pitfalls of capitalism. Explains how the idea of 'democracy' is exploited to garner support for policy that in practice serves other interests at the cost of diminishing democracy.

Pues nada, el abuelete Chomsky en sus trece de desenmascarar como funciona el poder en el mundo y como nos mantienen en nuestro sitio. Claro, conciso y si le lees por primera vez muy muy muy revelador. Eso si, el libro ya tiene mas de una decada y le falta una actualización con todo lo que ha llovido.

Brief yet detailed account of instances of neoliberal policies. There are no political parties when it comes to power and wealth. a good overview of a controlling world policy.

complicated... not for beginners... doesnt give an background knowledge but straightaway analysis... thats why im kept it in the cupboard for good

With a complete disatisfaction with buisness-led-captilaism and with big-state-socialism I think that Chomsky philosophy offers a fresh and relevant alternative. This book shows how de-regularisation of industry, state-subsidy and the economic strangulation of competition has created a global order of americanized mutli-nationals.
