Amazing series

Excellent manga classic by the master osamu tezuka, depicting gayatama siddharta buddha's life. the art is exquisite, oscillating between the epic and comedy, interspersed with contemporary references that reminds your status as readers. This is an impeccable companion to any student of buddhism, if nothing for the history of the buddha.

Amazing series of graphic novels by the late Osamu Tezuka, 'father of manga', about the life of Buddha. I appreciate the sense of humor it has, the translations are funny when they try to be contemporary (calling animals his "peeps" I think) but a great read nonetheless, and easy burn through in a day.

Tezuka is a great storyteller and this is his absolute masterpiece. It's a book you HAVE to check out even if the subject does not appeal to you...You will be amazed!
