But this book starts out in an antiquarian used bookstore where the narrator a scientific and psychology grounded individual and his friend Kyogokudo an expert in theology mysticism and the occult. They make a classic pair like Holmes and Watson teaming up to solve a case that involves equally strange human psychology and traditional Japanese demons and folk monsters. Natsuhiko Kyogoku will be a brilliant author to keep track of frankly and this book is nice on the inside as well as outside. The pages have the same texure of the best mass media paperbacks, the margins of the pages are very narrow and the text fills literally every available bit of page so there is no wasted space. I would say that I have no complaints and that is a high praise I think but then I am biased because I saw the anime series "Requiem from the Darkness" so I feel like I was already introduced to the author before I ever opened the book. I love this book because I related to it the first time I opened it up. An old book shop and all that. Lovely.   hide
