i enjoyed this book, although i don't think the majority of horror readers would feel the same. it delves a lot into the existential philosophies of parapsychology, as well as japanese folklore and myth - perhaps a bit too dry and complicated for anyone who just wants plain disturbing. disturbing plays a part, however,... just not as thick. it's a good mystery novel that is horrific, at times.
