i read the Indonesian version though, but i trusted the translator.. he had translated Norwegian Wood to Indonesian and with success :)

I read this book for the first time about 20 years ago. I've just read it again lately. I enjoyed it so much again. The language is beautiful and almost "perfect."

Sets the ground for how he became what he is.

As a first novel, this is an interesting read. Certainly not on par with his later works, but still, it gives insight to the young mind of one of the world's favorite writers.
