more Like others, I'm torn. The book was so easy to read, and the form and language was simply beautiful. It was, as writing, unbelievable and a joy to read. But even though the words were so magnificently strung together, it takes more than that for me to call it one of the best. The story was simple, and though it was a moving exploration of wonderful characters, I found myself, after it was done, wanting more, but in a disappointed way, not a positive way. It was a day in the life of several people, and it fostered a sense of bonding with the characters; a sense that there, but for the grace of God, go I. It also gave what seems a poignant depiction of the emotions and the guilt of war for its participants, victims, and observers, but there was a sense that the book could have been more than it was.
Still, a wonderful read, recommended for anybody.
