1). Engineering Manager:
Roles
- Lead a team of talented engineers to build the weRead application, which already has 2 million users.
- Stay on top of new developments in Social networks: primarily Facebook & OpenSocial api's, to ensure that weRead stays as the top books application across the board
- Cultivate & Implement best practices in the development process
- Interact with remote teams that perform UI designing
- Develop & debug features - quickly churn out features, and ensure that what you develop is treated as a template by others to follow in terms of design & coding standards
- Lead design initiatives across the company in areas such as MVC, Personalization, Website Scalability
Requirements
- 4+ years of product development, at least 2 of which is for a consumer facing internet product
- strong problem solving & design skills
- strong product focus & complete ownership of the product & engineering
- exposure to web services, databases and UI development
Bonus
- experience on LAMP stack with php & mysql
- experience with css & javascript
- people management experience
- any analytics or data driven product development experience
2). Technical Architect
Roles & Responsibilities
- Actively participate in designing major components & perform design reviews
- Would be responsible for evaluating & deciding about Infrastructure & scaling needs
- Guide & mentor the operations engineer to take care of all Infrastructure requirements
- Define & ensure the implementation of best practices in the engineering team
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience largely with consumer internet companies as an individual contributor
- Experience with LAMP technologies, preferably on Php & Mysql
- Experienced in building large web properties
- Experienced in scaling solutions
