Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

I guess i have two topics here. The Wind-up Bird Chronicles are considered to be Murakami's masterpiece. I, however, think that Hard-boiled Wonderland is easily his best work. What do you think?

And my second question; what the hell is it about?
