Hi Nancy,
The book is written from the perspective of a murdered girl, observing the impact her dissapearance has had on her family. It's a great read.

Essentially, it is about a young girl who was raped and killed and her time in the afterlife, looking back on her own life. I have actually not finished it, so I'm probably not the best person to give a decent review.
However, it's quite compelling and truly brings the horrors of rape in full view, as well as the process of not feeling completely suppressed by such a traumatic experience, even after death. Some of it, I fear is a little cheesy, particularly the descriptions of heaven which seemed too idealized for the main character and not conscious of the fact that people are so different that one person's heaven can easily be another's hell. But maybe I'm supposed to believe that that place is individually idealized for everyone... again, I need to pick that book up one more time...
