I recommend this for anyone with a family member in an old age facility. It was an adventure that was thrilling, sad and sweet. Good read.

Ironic that I read this just when Ms. Palin joined our midst! Very good read about the struggles Alaskans face. I found this very realistic from the standpoint of feeling the main character's struggle.

This book was heartbreakingly sad. I recommend it for someone wanting to learn more about this time in Argentina's history, and those interested in world Jewry as well. Don't expect a happy ending.

Ozeki books always brim with "causes" - be ready to think about them. Her writing style is interesting and keeps you turning the pages. Believeable, readable and at times funny, despite the issue preaching. Don't read it too close to a visit to Peter Luger.

Wonderfully written page turner. I loved her book History of Tractors in the Ukraine. This book intricately swaps points of view and gives an achingly sad vision of the lives of immigrants young and old trying to make a new life for themselves in a hostile environment.
