(Language: English)
This was a great book written by Eric Haney, retired Delta Force. If you like the CBS television show 'The Unit', you will like this book, as that show is based on this book. While it was written first person by Haney, it provided great insight into the selection process and the hoops that one had to go through to be a member of the elite unit and also highlighted some of his relationships with colleagues, as well as some of the dangerous missions he was involved in. A good read. I will eventually read 'Delta Force' by retired Col. Charles Beckwith, who was the original commander of Delta Force.

(Language: English)
This book is not only inspirational and a must read for anyone, particularly anyone who hasn't gone to church in a long time, or has seemed to forgotten God and his power and importance in your lives. It's also a good book to help understand things better, including at times of crisis, etc. I highly recommend this book. Though written from more of a protestant perspective, it has gotten me to be more involved and more interested in being a more active Catholic. This was an excellent book, written from a traditionalist non-denominational viewpoint. I was baptized Catholic, confirmed, and went through first communion, and used to only attend church on holidays with my folks. However, this book brought me closer to God and now I can trust in his Son Jesus Christ, our Savior who died on the cross for our salvation. As a result I have regularly been attending mass now, and also picked up a Catholic Bible at a local Christian book store, and will from time to time read scripture. This has brought about a true renewal for me, particularly during tough economic times, being without a job, and our Country and New President bringing upon us some uncertainty, rather than what he promised. I would recommend this book HIGHLY to ANY Friend of mine who has questions, and am willing to help stand aside them during their 40 day adventure. |

Still in process, but will finish, just not that big of a bookworm. Will definately finish after I keep up with current events. So far a great book to understand and get a feel for peoples unconscious demeanor and body language obviously.

(Language: English)
Great book on the life of Alaska's Gov. Sarah Palin, former VP candidate. Those that want to know more about her, I recommend you read this book. It covers all the way from when she was a kid, how they survived living very meager living off the land and how she made it to where she is today, self-determination for sure. A good read and I got mine autographed while her and Todd were in Dubuque. :-)A great introduction to John McCain's running mate and how she was a self-starter and a real go-getter. So far, reveals a lot about her biographical history and how hard and determined she was/is and why she's sitting where she's at...1/2 way through now. |
