(Language: English)
AMAZING, reading it is like walking through every woman's nightmare, knwing so well, every single one of these events, actually happened in real life, here and there. The voice of Offred was so strong yet, trembling with fear and self awareness. I could not stop reading until the very last part"thinking may hurt my chances, and I intend to last"too painful to remember yet too beautiful to forgetworth reading

(Language: English)
So far, this is my favorite novel. It is a fairy tales, not suitable for those who has grown up and forget that u urself once were a child. This wonderful, marvelous novel is also not suitable for those who ignores the meaning of true love.Beautiful, captivating, heartbreaking bitter sweet. Dreamy yet realistic and logical. I cried my heart out because of the "happy ending"something which is right, which should happen that way. Ivan is never forgotten and everyone could see him... cuz he lives in Lizzie's mind, and in every breath she takes, he is with her Highly recommended! |

(Language: English)
Beautifully writtenI finish the book at one go and until now, the memories of Lauren and Arthur's funny conversation still linger in my head. if it is not for love, and sometimes, I think it is also madness, no man would dare rob an unconscious body out of a hospital, talk to a ghost, not even care what the heck all those around him thinks about him. cuz to Arthur, there is only 1 person that matters, apart from his Lily: Laurent. Once again, Beautiful story |

(Language: English)
draggy beginning makes me terribly discouraged to finished the book. However toward the ending, I felt in love with the characters, the father who is extraordinary, John and Savahna. Their love is pure and strong but they dont just throw all responsibilities and common sense over their heads for love... Maybe, that's what I love the most about this novel. Worth reading

(Language: English)
Another proof of true love which does last forever. Sometime this book truly make me wonder, from where Noah draws the courage and strength to bring his wife back her memories again and again every single passing day, without being disheartened? A true fairy tale, but even more powerful than that, for love, they dont just fight against imaginary force, evil or witches, they fight against ages, years, and sickness created by mother natureWonderfully beautiful and the movie, is certainly something worth mentioning |

(Language: English)
I like the idea, I like the story... but there is really something missing in P/S I love you, I guess, it is the depth of emptiness and pain a woman goes through losing her husband, and there is something draggy, I guess the middle part. However I cannot deny breath-taking moments of pain and realization when Holly is lack of money to pay the internet bill and she calls Gery, knowing perfectly well that he wont be able to pick up the phone and recuse her any more... or the part when she has to get rid of his clothes each letter, each note is a stepping stone for Holly to get back in to love and get back into a normal life...a lesson to learn Generally, I have to say, I like it, very much indeed |
A Reader posted a review at 2007-11-10 11:37:37 for A Walk To Remember.
(Language: English)
I watched the movie before reading the book. I am aware that she will eventually passes away... I am even warned by the author that I will cry... and no matter how many times I remind myself "I have known the story line all along" I still weep uncontrollably in the endStunning story of love and faith, and how true love can really change a person. Highly recommended! |
A Reader posted a review at 2007-09-08 02:29:03 for The Tragedy of Macbeth.
(Language: English)
Should I list it as my fav? absolutely not, at the beginning of the year when I knew this is my Olevel text for literature, I nearly fainted for the fact that I dont even understand the language But after a while, learning to get into the mind of the murderer, of a brave soldier, the tragic hero who falls for his greed of power, I have to say, I love the play Rich in irony, tension and suspense... Macbeth, though a killer, a tyrant, someone who commit murder of his own best friend, his king and innocent women and children, in the end wins our sympathy as a loner, a king who is loved by none, a husband who loses his wife... His soliloquy in the end was depressing but beautiful: Life is but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets in his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more |
A Reader posted a review at 2007-09-08 02:13:54 for A Leap of Love: A Novella.
(Language: English)
I usually do not read books by Asian writers, no offend, I was not exposed to Singaporean literature I felt in love with this book right at te first time I read it. The plot was amusing, one of a kind, a myth of the 29th of Feb which leads a girl to 12 years of waiting for the meeting of her dream man. The language is beautiful, once n a while, I thought I was the main character, feel her pain, jealousy, happiness... A happy ending love story Highly recommend |
A Reader posted a review at 2007-09-08 02:09:06 for Pride And Prejudice.
(Language: English)
Amazing intelligent, witty and sweet love story. I first read it when I was a little girl at the age of 12. And I have to say, the image of Mr. Darcy and of course, not to mention Elizabeth is still vivid in my mind. Love melts their "pride and prejudice", through misunderstanding, they finally realize, they are meant for each other. The new book cover is beautiful, and the movie is very enjoyable, one of my fav |
A Reader posted a review at 2007-09-08 01:58:24 for Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, Book 3).
(Language: English)
the latest available book of Stephenie Meyer's series. In my list of reading... after Olevel. But having known the story line, I found it hard to understand Bella's emotion change, she loves Jacob yet cannot live without Edward. And for all that Edward has done, his love for her esp, his internal fight against his blood thirst natural vampire desire... I think Edward deserves more than that. Maybe, I should read it to have a better judgment This series is irresistible |

Something I really want to read yet, I have to refrain myself from even glancing at the cover. Cuz I know, once I read it, I am unable to stop

A Reader posted a review at 2007-09-08 01:51:38 for Twilight (Twilight, Book 1).
(Language: English)
ADDICTIVE is all I can say. I told myself to read for 15 min and ended up finishing the whole book in 4 hours none stop. I have not read something so irresistible for a long time and yes, though I am in the middle of m exam, I treasure the time spent on Twilight as it really worth it.Edward Cullen and his half human half Vampire desire makes me unable to put down the story. It is amazing to see him changing and switching from a man in love to a vampire crave for the blood of the young girl. Love wins the day. I am looking forward to reading Midnight sun, twilight version but written in Edward perspective. Highly Recommended |
