Written in a very simplistic style. Plenty of things happening to keep the interest up but the ending wasn't up to much - like it wasn't finished..?

I thought this book would be a bit square judging by the title. It was really good though, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and it wasn't a do-gooderish-type book after all.

Being a Daphne du Maurier fan I was a bit sceptical about reading this, it has been sat on the shelf for about 18 months. Anyway once I started reading it I couldn't put it down, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very, very slow to start with. After reading 100 pages I was still wondering should I give up but having come so far I had to carry on. I was glad I did though as I thoroughly enjoyed it afterwards.

Really enjoyed this novel apart from the war bit towards the end which I am not personally that interested in but the rest of it was very good and with a good level of detail.

Didn't get on with the movie due to missing too much important detail meaning I gave up watching it halfway through. The book was written in a lovely style with the right amount of detail.
