Firmin is a book about a rat that likes to read books and watch porn...Ok that's not what the book is really about. The book tells the story of Firmin, a rat born in a book store, that by chewing books miraculously understand them. As time goes by Firmin starts to relate to people more than to his fellow rats. The book gives Firmin's perspective on the world in a cute, funny way and is definitely worth reading.

To sum it up in one word: trash. While reading The Alexander Cipher I had a deja-vu from the Da Vinci Code, that is, a made up history wrapped in a cheap plot to keep the reader turning pages. However while the "fake" history in Da Vinci Code is interesting, the one in The Alexander Cipher is not all that fascinating, or at least not in the way it is told.

The book tell the story of a group of war prisoners during the civil war in America that try to escape in a flying balloon. They land on an uninhibited island where they have to invent everything by themselves. One of the best books I've ever read, it's also the book that made me love reading. Truly the work of a genius!
