Amazing read, Sparks has proven himself to be THE author when it comes to love channeled by raw emotions and incredibly realistic...and extremely surreal...definitely classical to me!

(Language: English)
I just like how Conran does justice to her female characters and how to maximize their role in these books. Good read, seriously.

(Language: English)
Continuation of where it was left of, Lili found her mother and then what? Well, its more or less how mother and daughter re-bonded and broken relationships mended, not bad, pretty good

Pretty interesting, I think of it as a female version of "Lord of the Flies" and trust me, its less brutal than expected. Good read!

Amazing...definitely drama-thrilling!! I loved the dynamics and mystery between the characters! Really really loving the twist in the tale at the end. Poor Lili, growing up without her mother and through all that pain and hurt. Amazing read as well!

A Reader posted a review at 2008-07-01 03:43:34 for The 120 Days of Sodom and Other Writings.
(Language: English)
When I first heard about it, I was intrigue, to what extent ppl hated it so much, then when I started to read it, I couldn't finish chapter 2! I was so sick at how twisted the mind of this madman who wrote this utter horror! Paedophilia, BDSM and the horrors that is too horrible for me to describe. I was traumatized for a while and only those who are 'strong-minded' enough could really go through this book..

A Reader posted a review at 2008-07-01 03:31:26 for KING STEPHEN : STAND (Signet).
(Language: English)
Compare the movie and the book, the book is a little dry but it provides more information and character depth. I like best was how the group out-maneuver the bad guy (don't wanna spoil other readers who the bad guy is). But its pretty dark than the movie itself. Be prepared for a surprise twist!

A Reader posted a review at 2008-07-01 03:26:14 for Gai-Jin A Novel of Japan.
(Language: English)
Really mesmerizing and incredibly detailed, one would almost think that James Clavell is actually Japanese! Good book except its pretty thick and took me time to finish it.

(Language: English)
I like the twisted ending and how Dicken's usage of such dramatisation to bring in effect a beautiful yet tragical story. Definitely a twist in a tale...

A Reader posted a review at 2008-06-23 07:57:53 for Penguin Classics Tale Of Two Cities.
(Language: English)
My favourite out of all Dicken's work! Very romantically angsty and if I were to put it in a more romantically way, this is a book that definitely defines the meaning of 'true love'.

I love the depth of human conflict and striking coincidences between the main protagonists and antagonists....a vivid work of art and definitely a good read.

A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 07:30:37 for Polgara the Sorceress.
(Language: English)
Amazing read, the Eddings never ceased to amaze me with their infamous tale of the Belgariad & Mallorean...definitely a must-have for all who loves the Belgariad & Mallorean series where this is the tale of Polgara & how it all started out, simply mindblowing....Not as fun as Belgarath the Sorceror, but equally interesting. She does have her father's sense of dryness when dealing with 'hardheads' and I loved it she was cajoled to undertake the task to write her own autobiography! The Eddings did well with this one! |
A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 07:26:16 for Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China.
(Language: English)
amazing....vivid characters came to life as you can imagine what they have to go through in life especially in a war-torn country where politicians, warlords and idealistic rebels constantly struggling trying to stay in power....what really touched me was that, throughout the whole ordeal; true love, perseverance, loyalty, family value and faith still remain no matter how far you are separated, how bad the situation was....Definitely one awesome book, I learned a heck lot about China reading this one and truly inspiring to see how she, her mom |

A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:44:13 for The Teardrop Story Woman.

Typically ironic. And I don't expect anything less when it comes to angsty realism depicting lives back in old era...expect some intense scenes esp the sad parts.

A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:42:42 for The Bondmaid.

Very light, but at the same time, intense & engaging. I love the way she narrates, its simply spellbinding. This one is very sad. I like how surreal the characters Lim created. Very intense.... |
A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:41:25 for Kane and Abel.
(Language: English)
My first Jeffrey Archer book. It was mesmerizing, like watching a movie in making. Strong character portrayals & the ironies of life are ironically dramatic. Good book esp if you're on long distance travel.Definitely my favourite from Archer. The classic 'who is the alpha male' in this story is just so ironically dramatic. How Fate |
A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:39:43 for The Firebrand.
(Language: English)
Definitely one of my favourites from Zimmer-BradleyI like this one, and perhaps my favourite out of all her books and I like particularly how she connects the characters to history. I think I like this version better than the epic myth itself! |
A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:33:46 for As the Crow Flies.
(Language: English)
My second Jeffrey Archer book. This man is definitely a powerful storyteller. Trying to recreate another 'Kane & Abel' like feeling. But still, the previous was better. This one is very interesting, and I like particularly the details he took time to elaborate, definitely a good read and loved the ending! |
A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:32:57 for Priestess of Avalon.
(Language: English)
I think it was okay, but a little bit draggy for me.I find this one a bit boring and narratively slow unlike her other books. |
A Reader posted a review at 2008-05-02 06:25:52 for The Younger Gods: Book Four of the Dreamers.
(Language: English)
I was a bit disappointed with this one, not as good as the Belgariad and Mallorean, even the Elenium and Tamuli series were far better....

Pretty interesting!! Get to know the world of 'men' and 'women' and enjoy the humour between the lines! Good read for those who enjoy humour at various levels and some sexist remarks too!
