Nice gateway drug to become paranoid about the current world we live in with regards to genetic engineering. I like the sporadic settings from chapter to chapter with a visible common thread throughout the whole narration of the novel. Got me researching whether some of these bogus gene patents Crichton mentions actually exist or not.

Quick, easy read. Great reminder to implement core principles of life daily. However, didn't regard the narration so much. Seemed like stereotypical characters from the 80's: woman = house-wife while male served as the bread winner. Therefore, couldn't 100% relate to the (male CEO) main character.

As usual, Murakami abstractly illustrates several key themes. The ones I liked best were about human connection, loss and abandonment, and alienation. Out of those, the way Murakami depicts the ultimate discovery of human connection - transcending over all physical and mental constraints - is refreshing and thought provoking. Highly recommended!

Minor grammatical errors - however, she addresses this translation issue in the preface.Overall, a great analysis of day-to-day life in Japan post-WWII through the eyes of an American professor. The ending was realistic and resonated after the read. Much appreciated.

Grisham falls guilty like many other authors when writing a series: writing just to write. The Associate lacks creativity, suspense, and tenacity in the characters that made The Firm such a great read.

SO ADORABLE!!! My best friend recommended this to me. I responded after checking it out on amazon "but.. it's a children's novel?"He said "it doesn't matter, get it".....and I'm glad I did. I had my little sister read it and then passed it on. GET IT!!!! IT WILL TAKE YOU 20 MIN TO READ - TOPS!!!!
