If you have a problem being identified with the protagonist (that is, the heroine in the present) but still find this book fascinating, then we're on the same boat. Ella Turner is one of the most annoying protagonists I've come across, but on the other hand, the fate of Isabelle just pulls me further and deeper into this book. Well, maybe I do love the Middle Ages that much.
