(Language: English)
This was the first book I ever read by Piper...it sat on my shelf as a gift for a few years, but when I finally read it, I was blessed mightily. Piper helped me understand what fasting is about in this book in a way I never understood before, and he fanned the flame of my hunger for God throughout (sometimes via encouragements, sometimes via whacks with spiritual 2X4's...both were needed). I recommend this book to all.

This is the first book in a series that is light, fun, fictional reading that blessed my soul along the way.

(Language: English)
I read this years ago and I would like to read it again...It helped me taste and see the grace of God, especially relative to fighting the Accuser who likes to haunt believers with sins of their past.

(Language: English)
It isn't uncommon for us sinners to be more interested in the gifts than the Giver, but in doing so, we miss the mark. Piper does an excellent job of helping you see that seeking the gifts apart from the Giver is NOT good news...to truly enjoy the gifts, we must do so in relationship to the Giver, putting the greatest emphasis on enjoying the Giver Himself. This book is very much worth the time and effort to read it!

(Language: English)
I have read this book three times, and was hit hardest by it the last time when I read through it with a friend. Mr. Welch exposes us and gives us clear, biblical direction for growing in our love for Christ and overcoming our fears of man. I highly recommend this book, and have given it out often.

This book was written to parents of teens, but I would recommend parents of toddlers read it so you can incorporate the ideas he suggests before the teen years come...good book.
